START Technology Marketplace

START TM is the dedicated space where results, tools, and knowledge from the START project are made accessible. It is the main hub to keep the START network operational beyond the funding period, including engagement with both consortium and non-consortium partners and stakeholders. It supports the transition from innovation to market uptake by connecting technologies with industry, research, and policy stakeholders, contributing to a sustainable thermoelectric ecosystem in Europe. Initial assets of the Marketplace include the outputs of the START project, while these are to be further developed with an extended scope towards all sustainable thermoelectric technology-based solutions and applications. The initial assets include:

• Methodology for the accurate mineralogical evaluation of mine wastes
• A scalable and environmental-friendly powder-based method to produce advanced mineral-derived sulphide p-type semiconductor thermoelements
• Demonstration units of TE devices that utilise minerals from mine tailings
• START TEG-based System CAPEX Modelling Tool
• START Benchmarking and Competition Assessment Tool
• LCA and LCC assessments tailored to thermoelectrics
• A roadmap established for research and commercial exploitation of START’s outputs
• Dissemination products and tools
