START Innovation Agenda

The START Innovation Agenda defines the key priorities and actions needed to advance thermoelectric technologies from research to real-world applications.

It supports the development of a sustainable and competitive European thermoelectric ecosystem, with a strong focus on circular materials, waste heat recovery, and market-oriented innovation.

The Agenda addresses current challenges such as scaling technologies, strengthening industry collaboration, and improving market uptake, while promoting the use of advanced approaches including digitalisation, AI, and new business models.

Structured around four priority areas and six innovation pillars, it provides a practical framework for coordinated innovation across the full value chain, enabling the transition towards higher technology readiness levels and long-term commercialization.
